Electrician

Role Overview:
The Solar Electrician is responsible for the safe, efficient, and code-compliant installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar PV systems. This role ensures all electrical work meets NEC, local utility, and permitting standards, while delivering high-quality service to our customers.


Key Responsibilities:

System Installation:

- Install, wire, and terminate solar PV components, including inverters, combiner boxes, disconnects, batteries, and monitoring devices.

- Run conduit, pull wire, and make all electrical connections in compliance with NEC and local codes.

- Coordinate with installation crews to ensure proper system layout and functionality.

Safety & Compliance:

- Follow OSHA and company safety protocols at all times.

- Ensure installations meet NEC, state, and utility interconnection requirements.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment on job sites.

System Testing & Commissioning

- Perform continuity, insulation resistance, and voltage testing.

- Assist in system startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning.

- Verify system performance and customer satisfaction before project handoff.

Maintenance & Service

- Diagnose and repair electrical issues in existing solar PV systems.

- Perform preventive maintenance, system inspections, and upgrades.

- Replace faulty components such as inverters, breakers, or wiring as needed.

Documentation & Reporting

- Accurately complete electrical diagrams, as-builts, and system documentation.

- Work with project managers to close out permits and inspections.

- Communicate progress, issues, and solutions to supervisors in a timely manner.


Qualifications & Skills:

- State of Hawaii Journeyman or Master Electrician license (required).

- Strong knowledge of NEC, solar PV systems, and energy storage.

- Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.

- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
