Solar Laborer

Role Overview:
- The Solar Laborer provides essential support to the installation team by assisting with site preparation, material handling, and general labor tasks. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals who are hardworking, safety-conscious, and eager to learn about solar installation. Laborers play a key role in keeping projects moving smoothly and supporting electricians and installers on-site.


Key Responsibilities:

Site Preparation & Cleanup

- Load, unload, and stage solar panels, racking, tools, and materials.

- Prepare job sites by setting up safety barriers, moving equipment, and clearing work areas.

- Maintain a clean and organized job site throughout installation.

Material Handling & Support

- Carry solar panels, racking, and hardware to installation areas.

- Assist installers with lifting and positioning panels on roofs or ground mounts.

- Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision.

Installation Assistance

- Support the installation crew with measurements, cutting, and assembly tasks.

- Help with roof prep, flashing, and weatherproofing under direction.

- Assist electricians by pulling wire, running conduit, and staging equipment.

Safety & Compliance

- Follow all company and OSHA safety standards at all times.

- Wear appropriate PPE and use tools/equipment safely.

- Report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately to supervisors.

Teamwork

- Work under the direction of lead installers and electricians.

- Communicate effectively with crew members to ensure efficient workflow.

- Take initiative to help wherever needed on the job site.


Qualifications & Skills:

- No prior solar experience required; construction or roofing background is a plus.

- Willingness to learn solar installation techniques and trade skills.

- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights, and perform physical labor in varying weather.

- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.

- Safety-first mindset and ability to follow instructions.
